Summary Pre-Bar Admission to 3 years’ experience Assistant Prosecutor Under the direction of the Prosecuting Attorney and the Chief Assistant, reviews and authorizes requests for warrants, determines the appropriate charge and prosecutes criminal cases. As an entry level Assistant Prosecutor, is assigned to a District Court docket, covering misdemeanor criminal trial docket, felony preliminary examinations, civil infraction hearings, Juvenile Delinquency, Neglect and Abuse and Mental Commitment Hearings. Prepares and argues motions and appeals as well as assisting, with supervision, in more complex felony matters. 3 years’ plus experience Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Under the direction of the Prosecuting Attorney and the Chief Assistant, must be able to perform the above duties. In addition, as an experienced Assistant Prosecutor, is able to independently manage a court docket while also handling felony cases in Circuit Court as well as District and Probate matters as necessary. Is assigned more complex or sensitive cases including sexual assault, violent crimes, and/or homicides. Is expected to be able to prosecute such matters with limited assistance.
