About The Position

The Assistant Project Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all aspects of creating and maintaining a safe job site. This role involves coordinating and supervising all construction activities, creating and maintaining the construction schedule, identifying and solving problems, ordering materials, and scheduling inspections. The Assistant Project Superintendent also organizes and directs all self-perform work on site and directs all field personnel to ensure project completion on schedule, within budget, and with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.

Requirements

  • Professional expert, knowledge & skill in all aspects of technical construction.
  • Able to operate computers, send/receive e-mails, and create spreadsheets, write a letter, and build a schedule using a scheduling program.
  • Utilizes strong organizational skills.
  • Displays strong & effective written and oral communication skills with owners, architects, engineers, team members, subcontractors, and neighbors, and employs effective listening skills.
  • Analyzes problems and makes sound decisions promptly based on goals, priorities, objectives, risks, implications, and costs.
  • Tactful and mature demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills, including working well within a team and with diverse personalities.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • A self-starting highly motivated and goal-oriented individual.
  • Excellent attention to detail with emphasis placed on quality.
  • Willingness to work with tools occasionally.
  • 3+ Years of experience.
  • A demonstrated understanding of construction means and methods associated with the renovation and construction of commercial and institutional buildings and site work related thereto.
  • The ability to effectively communicate in both written and spoken English.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, Email, and other software used in the construction industry.
  • 3-4 years of field construction experience at any level.
