About The Position
We are looking for a driven, detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the successful delivery of commercial stair systems, railings, structural steel, and architectural metal projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. The company is a premier design-build contractor specializing in commercial stairs, rail systems, structural steel, and architectural metals. Requirements
- Ability to read architectural and engineering drawings
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and project management software (Procore experience preferred)
- Knowledge of construction processes, safety standards, and building practices
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
- 1–3 years of construction, project coordination, or related experience
- Experience in commercial construction or miscellaneous metals is a plus
Responsibilities
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and milestone tracking
- Monitor submittals, engineering deliverables, fabrication timelines, and installation progress
- Support budget management, purchase orders, and cost tracking
- Coordinate material procurement, deliveries, labor resources, and subcontractors
- Help maintain project documentation, reports, and daily status updates
- Assist with OSHA-compliant safety initiatives and documentation
- Participate in quality control inspections and corrective action tracking
- Support client communications, progress meetings, and project updates
- Track contract requirements and assist with change order management
- Compile project reports, photos, and field documentation
