We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Assistant Project Manager to support our Project Management team in overseeing civil construction projects from planning through completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of civil construction practices and project management principles, with a focus on providing administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth execution of projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field experience.
• At least 1-3+ years of experience working in civil construction or related field.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Understanding of scheduling techniques and tools, such as Gantt charts or critical path method scheduling.
• Experience with budgeting, financial analysis, and cost management for construction projects.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lead small teams, collaborate effectively and provide support to Project Managers.
• Must possess a valid unrestricted driver's license.
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in coordinating various activities of the construction project, ensuring that tasks are completed on time and within budget.
• Help develop and maintain project schedules.
• Track milestones and deadlines, ensuring proper sequencing of work.
• Monitor project expenses, assist with cost estimates, track invoices, and manage financial records to ensure the project stays within the allocated budget.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documents such as contracts, reports, drawings, permits, and change orders.
• Conduct regular site visits to ensure safety standards are met, inspect work quality, and identify potential issues.
• Assist in identifying and mitigating risks associated with safety, project timelines, quality, and budget overruns.
• Help manage the allocation of labor, materials, and equipment, ensuring they are available when needed.
• Assist in addressing and resolving issues that arise during construction; such as delays, unforeseen conditions, or changes in project scope.
• Prepare regular progress reports for the Project Manager, stakeholders, and clients, detailing project status, costs, and potential risks.
• Assist in managing subcontractors by ensuring their work aligns with project specifications and deadlines.
