About The Position

The Assistant Project Manager works under the Director of Operations and reports to a designated Project Manager for specific projects. This role involves extensive project planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution, including managing client relationships and contract expertise. The position requires directing a site team, ensuring efficiency and compliance, and maintaining clear communication regarding project status, profitability, quality control, and safety concerns with various stakeholders. A key aspect of the role is maintaining project files using SharePoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Wind Energy related experience is preferred.
  • Education in Engineering or Construction Technology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules and coordinates work (labor, equipment and materials) with the Director of Operations.
  • Works with Project Manager in project planning, scheduling, coordination and invoicing through execution and payment.
  • Directs and manages the site team consisting of Construction Manager, Site Safety Manager, Site Logistics Manager and Site Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Ensures efficiency and compliance to policy and procedures.
  • Develops crew list Project Manager, Director of Operations and Quality Assurance Director (for QA personnel assignments).
  • Coordinates transportation (permitting) and logistics tasks regarding and and all equipment and tooling needs with Division Logistics Manager assist pertains to mobilization/demobilization.
  • Manages, interacts and cultivates a working relationship with the client/customer.
  • Works closely with Health and Safety team audits and weekly safety focuses.
  • Acts as the contract expert, understanding and addressing potential scope and schedule changes, and assisting the Project Manager with development, submittals, and negotiations related to change orders.
  • Establishes lines of communication with local union representatives; negotiates and coordinates appropriate manpower needs.
  • Regularly and accurately communicates the project status, including schedule, profitability, quality control, safety concerns with executive project and Support service team.
  • Maintains a project file with SharePoint.
