About The Position

Rycon Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager for their Ft. Myers office. The company is an employee-owned (ESOP) firm providing construction management, general contracting, and design-build services nationwide. Rycon is recognized as an ENR Top 400 Contractor and an ENR Top 100 Green Contractor, celebrating 35 years in business. With nine offices across the US, Rycon specializes in a wide range of project types including health care, educational, industrial/warehouse, commercial, multi-unit residential, retail, financial, food service/dining, governmental, hospitality, cannabis, self-storage, and LEED facilities. They are known for their preconstruction planning, MEP expertise, and experienced project teams, as well as an in-house Architectural Woodwork & Specialty Fabrication Division.

Requirements

• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience managing multiple retail commercial construction projects valued at $5 million and up.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must have the ability to direct complex projects from concept to fully operational status.
• Computer Skills Required – Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to create material take-off’s.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Should be highly organized, highly motivated and a detail directed problem solver.

Nice To Haves

• College degree preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of south Florida construction market is preferred.
• Bi-lingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Reading of documents and contracts.
• Writing Subcontracts.
• Negotiating and awarding subcontracts.
• Reviewing/preparing subcontractors scope of work.
• Develop and maintain schedules using Microsoft Project.
• Attend meetings and prepare minutes.
• Review/prepare change orders.
• Develop/track submittals, RFI’s and cost reports.
• Maintain owner relations.
