About The Position

The Assistant Project Manager supports the day-to-day administration, coordination, scheduling, and documentation of commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This position works closely with the Director of Construction, subcontractors, owners, and project stakeholders to ensure projects remain organized, properly documented, and on schedule. The role also provides an opportunity for continued development into a Project Manager position as the Commercial GC Division grows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of construction project management experience, preferably in commercial construction.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, procurement, cost control, and contract administration.
  • Strong organizational, communication, time management, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently, collaborate across departments, and manage confidential information professionally.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Procore or similar project management software preferred.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain project files, contracts, subcontracts, RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and project logs.
  • Track project schedules, milestones, procurement lead times, and potential delays.
  • Coordinate scheduling, documentation, and communication with subcontractors, vendors, owners, and project stakeholders.
  • Assist with project budgets, cost reports, pay applications, change orders, and cost tracking.
  • Support subcontractor compliance by tracking insurance, bonds, W-9s, lien waivers, certified payroll, and required documentation.
  • Prepare project status updates, meeting minutes, and owner-facing correspondence.
  • Support project startup, permitting, inspections, mobilization, and closeout activities.
  • Track punch lists, warranties, as-built documents, O&M manuals, lien releases, and final turnover documentation.
  • Maintain required safety, OSHA, inspection, and regulatory documentation.
  • Support prevailing wage, certified payroll, and Davis-Bacon compliance when applicable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Perform assigned responsibilities in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports as required.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with team members and departments to achieve organizational goals.
  • Prioritize workload and manage multiple assignments effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable company policies, contractual requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in meetings, training programs, and professional development opportunities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
