About The Position

The Assistant Project Manager supports the planning, coordination, execution, and successful completion of mobile crane projects throughout Northern California. Working closely with Project Managers, Sales, Dispatch, Operations, Safety, Billing, and field personnel, this role helps ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with customer expectations and Bigge's standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
  • One to three years of project coordination, construction, heavy equipment, transportation, or related experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer job sites throughout Northern California as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers with the coordination and execution of mobile crane projects from award through completion.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, schedules, job files, permits, and customer communications.
  • Coordinate with Dispatch, Operations, Sales, Engineering, Safety, and field personnel to ensure equipment and labor are scheduled appropriately.
  • Support customers by providing timely project updates, scheduling information, and responsive service.
  • Assist with job setup, purchase orders, subcontractor coordination, and equipment logistics.
  • Track project costs, labor, equipment utilization, change orders, and job progress.
  • Support accurate and timely billing, collections, and project closeout activities.
  • Participate in project planning meetings, pre-job meetings, and post-project reviews.
  • Promote compliance with company policies, OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and customer safety requirements.
  • Identify project issues and escalate concerns while assisting in the development of practical solutions.
  • Develop a working knowledge of crane operations, lift planning, rigging, transportation logistics, and industry best practices.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
