About The Position

As an Assistant Project Manager at Choate Construction, you play a key support role in helping guide projects from early planning through successful completion, knowing that your contributions directly impact our clients, project teams, and communities. This position is ideal for professionals with at least three years of experience in a commercial construction–oriented entry‑level role who are eager to grow their careers and take on increasing responsibility. Reporting to and working closely with the Project Manager or Senior Project Manager, you will assist with the daily management, coordination, and administration of projects, supporting efforts related to contracting, scheduling, estimating, bidding, and cost control. You will collaborate alongside the field Superintendent and project team to help ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget, while gaining hands‑on exposure to the full lifecycle of a construction project. With Choate’s tools, mentorship, and support, you will continue developing the skills and confidence needed to grow into expanded project leadership roles.

Requirements

  • At least three years of experience in a commercial construction–oriented entry-level role.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the daily management, coordination, and administration of projects.
  • Support efforts related to contracting, scheduling, estimating, bidding, and cost control.
  • Collaborate with the field Superintendent and project team to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Gain hands-on exposure to the full lifecycle of a construction project.
  • Build positive, respectful relationships with clients, designers, subcontractors, and internal partners.
  • Represent Choate Construction with professionalism and pride in every interaction.
  • Partner with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Safety team to implement and uphold project-specific safety plans.
  • Understand contract requirements.
  • Assist with subcontracts and purchase orders.
  • Communicate potential risks or changes early.
  • Contribute during preconstruction.
  • Support logistics and scheduling efforts.
  • Assist in ensuring the project is set up for success before work begins.
  • Support construction planning, financial tracking, and BIM/VDC coordination.
  • Actively invest in your own professional growth and readiness for greater responsibility.
