About The Position

City Light & Power (CLP) is seeking an Assistant Project Manager with field or construction experience to join their growing construction project team in Denver, CO. This role is designed for individuals who understand field project operations and aspire to advance into project leadership. The position involves supporting electrical infrastructure projects from inception to completion, collaborating with Project Managers, engineers, contractors, and field crews to ensure projects remain organized, on schedule, and progressing. It is a hands-on coordination role offering direct exposure to construction execution, timelines, and costs. Due to new federal contracts, this role is crucial for delivering significant infrastructure projects supporting federal missions. Requirements

  • Two-four (2-4) years of experience with industrial/commercial building construction, materials, systems, field work or similar is required.
  • Detail oriented with strong documentation and reporting skills.
  • Organized, Problem-Solver with ability to multitask.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, and other Microsoft Office products.
  • Must have excellent analytical, organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
  • You must be a US citizen or have permanent work authorization.
  • You will be required to obtain Military Base Access Security Clearance.
  • A valid driver’s license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field highly preferred.
  • Previous related work experience may substitute.
  • Previous experience with federal government contracting or federal construction activities is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with compiling and distributing reports on all project phases and financial performance.
  • Cultivate and maintain effective relations with the Client, project team, engineers, subcontractors, and field personnel.
  • Support the Project Manager with developing the budget, schedule, and construction service plans for various elements of the project.
  • Travel to the project site as needed to monitor project activities.
  • Attend project meetings including pre-award, pre-construction, project progress and final close-out.
  • Work closely with project management team to identify and allocate resources, including personnel and materials.
  • Monitor progress, tracking timelines and construction activities according to schedule.
  • Participate in and monitor the procurement process, cost control, and change management systems.
  • Perform field inspections to verify quality and accuracy of construction.
  • Uphold the core safety values of the company and collaborate with the EH&S Director to effectively communicate and enforce safety standards.
