As an Assistant Project Manager on the Portland Glass commercial team, you will be responsible for preparing steps to ensure projects run smoothly. This includes setting up projects in the system, reviewing and updating job costs, releasing to engineering for shop drawings, preparing submittal logs, creating timelines, and preparing projected manpower schedules and schedules of values. You will also assist the Project Manager with purchasing materials, negotiating with vendors for pricing, and maintaining accurate job tracking. Additionally, you will procure and schedule fabrication release packages, including manpower requirements, prepare all safety sheets, review them with the project foreman, and conduct ongoing communication as required. You will interpret and implement job policies, procedures, and allowances (cost, time, materials) and work to successfully bring projects in on budget while maintaining a good working relationship with the customer to ensure future projects and build the customer base.
