About The Position

Quanta Power Solutions is seeking an Assistant Project Manager/Engineer to support the planning, execution, and successful delivery of power generation and energy infrastructure projects. This role works closely with Project Managers, engineering, procurement, construction teams, clients, and key stakeholders to ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with project objectives. The Assistant Project Manager will play a critical role in project coordination, documentation, communication, and overall project execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3-8+ years of experience supporting project management, project coordination, construction management, or project engineering functions.
  • Experience supporting EPC, industrial, utility, infrastructure, construction, or energy-related projects.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel periodically for project meetings, site visits, and field activities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting power generation, utility, renewable energy, or energy infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with project scheduling and project management software such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Knowledge of project budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and project controls.
  • Experience with contract administration, change management, procurement, and vendor management processes.
  • PMP certification or progress toward obtaining a project management certification.
  • Experience supporting large-scale projects such as power plants, substations, transmission infrastructure, renewable energy facilities, or data centers.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers in planning, coordinating, and executing power generation and energy infrastructure projects.
  • Support project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and project controls activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Track project progress, milestones, deliverables, and key performance indicators.
  • Coordinate communication between clients, subcontractors, vendors, engineering teams, and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with procurement activities, including vendor coordination, bid evaluations, purchase order tracking, and material deliveries.
  • Support contract administration, change orders, RFIs, submittmits, and project documentation management.
  • Help identify project risks, issues, and opportunities while supporting mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in project meetings and prepare meeting agendas, reports, action items, and status updates.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support construction activities through field coordination, issue resolution, and progress monitoring.
  • Maintain accurate project records, schedules, cost reports, and other project documentation.
  • Travel to project sites, client offices, and project meetings as required.
