About The Position

Pivot Energy is seeking a motivated and organized Assistant Project Manager to join our Project Management Department. This role involves a myriad of technical and administrative tasks supporting the delivery of renewable energy projects. The Assistant Project Manager will contribute to project success by ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and appropriately administered by Pivot and its contracting partners. The position requires familiarity with general construction business, typical project controls, safety compliance, resourcefulness, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. The ideal candidate is a strong problem-solver capable of managing change in company priorities, project scope, schedule, and other lifecycle elements. Key expectations include managing financial funding requirements, issue logs, submittals, budget and schedule updates, sterile document management, and data rooms, while maintaining high communication with internal and external stakeholders. Requirements

  • 2+ years related solar ground mount or construction management experience
  • 2+ years total professional experience
  • Proven working experience in project management; knowledge in construction means and methods
  • Understanding of basic site diligence documents to ensure the EPC scope accurately captures the site constraints, including: Geotech, ESAs, permits, interconnect agreements & land-use agreements
  • Strong communication skills  both written and verbal
  • Working knowledge of scheduling concepts such as CPM, Gantt charts, etc.
  • Working knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, scheduling software

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working for a large design build general contractors
  • Experience specifically with an renewable energy IPP who executes their own construction projects.
  • Basic knowledge of Procore or basic project management information systems that track project controls, financials, deliverables and schedules
  • Basic knowledge of construction lending and project financing
  • OSHA 30 is a preferred
  • CAPM PMPa and DBIA education

Responsibilities

  • Help progress projects through development workflow under direction of Project Operations Manager, PM Team
  • Support the organization and review of contracts in internal document library
  • Interface with vendors and subcontractors
  • Support Project Managers with monitoring subcontractor construction progress on a regular basis, reinforcing safety and quality with subcontractors and addressing any issues that arise during construction
  • Initiate close-out procedures and prepare close-out documents
  • Work alongside the Finance Team to prepare EPC specific documents and checklist items
  • Attend and provide support on most contractor and utility scheduled meetings
  • Maintain internal and external data rooms
  • Support PM team in management of Procore
  • Monitor and track schedule changes and flag issues on scheduled milestones
  • Support in review and creation of team processes
  • Travel to sites as necessary
