The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for the Wastewater Capital Program (WWCP) within the Bureau of Engineering Design & Construction (BEDC) in Queens, NY. This role is specifically for internal City employees who are permanent Civil Service Assistant Chemical Engineers. The WWCP manages a significant portfolio of capital projects focused on wastewater treatment upgrades, sustainability, resiliency, and maintaining the state of good repair. The Assistant Project Manager will be an integral part of the project team, responsible for achieving project goals and milestones, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget. This includes supporting contract modifications, ensuring Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) is integrated throughout the project lifecycle, coordinating with operating bureaus and support groups, and managing communication with stakeholders. The role involves monitoring permit requirements, resolving project issues, mitigating risks, managing project delivery quality, and monitoring key performance indicators. Fieldwork, including site surveys and investigations, will be required, along with participation in environmental compliance and safety training.
