About The Position

Flare Construction, a Quanta Services Company, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager I to support the planning, execution, and closeout of high-pressure gas pipeline and facility construction projects across the western U.S. This role involves assisting with scheduling, cost tracking, DOT documentation, and field coordination on pipeline construction, regulator stations, and maintenance programs. It is a foundational position with a clear path for advancement to APM II and Project Manager. The position is primarily office-based in Coalville, UT, with frequent travel to project sites, and may include extended field rotations. The projects focus on high-pressure gas pipeline construction and maintenance, regulator station and facility construction support, anomaly dig and gas system maintenance program coordination, DOT-regulated pipeline documentation and compliance support, and associated oil and gas construction projects.

Requirements

  • 0-3 years in construction, utility project support, or a related field.
  • Active enrollment in or completion of a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred; comparable field experience accepted.
  • OSHA 10-Hour required or completed within 90 days of hire.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Internship or co-op experience in project coordination is a plus.
  • Familiarity with pipeline construction, DOT documentation, or gas utility operations a plus.
  • Spanish language proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support project delivery from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Assist with scheduling, cost tracking, documentation, RFIs, submittments, and change orders.
  • Attend project meetings, record minutes, and track action items.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance.
  • Coordinate internal communications between estimating, field, and management teams.
  • Focus on day-to-day project coordination tasks under direct PM supervision.
  • Build foundational knowledge of construction sequencing, contracts, and field operations.
  • Perform basic cost tracking, schedule monitoring, and material delivery coordination.
