The Assistant Project Manager will work with various Project Management team members to manage the overall performance of commercial construction projects, maintain direct client relations, and provide oversight of estimation and project management for multiple project teams. Requirements

• Ability to travel for work as needed.
• Minimum 12-15+ years of experience in the commercial or Federal Government construction market. DOE market experience is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent professional experience that provides the required knowledge for the position.
• Proven experience serving in a job management role, with demonstrated responsibility across construction operations, engineering, estimating, contract management, and client relations.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial construction standards, including scheduling, contracting, and coordination and management of multiple disciplines and subcontractors.
• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
• Proficiency in project controls and administrative software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
• Demonstrated experience in staff management, including team development and performance oversight.
• Strong project management capabilities, including leading and reviewing project financial forecasting.
• Experience in business process management and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Solid understanding of business administration principles.
• Effective public speaking and presentation skills, with the ability to represent the organization to clients, stakeholders, and industry groups.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support Executive Leadership in the development and execution of organizational strategy and key business initiatives.
• Provide senior leadership and oversight for multiple construction teams throughout preconstruction and construction phases.
• Develop and execute strategic plans for new business opportunities while fostering and expanding client relationships.
• Serve as the primary client relationship manager, building and sustaining long-term partnerships to generate new and repeat business.
• Collaborate closely during preconstruction, estimating, and proposal development for both new and existing opportunities.
• Lead contract negotiations and provide solutions-driven contract development support.
• Actively engage in the community and industry as an influential leader through professional organizations and memberships.
• Maintain senior management accountability for overall project performance, including financial results, schedules, and client satisfaction.
• Ensure projects are appropriately staffed and support employee development, recruiting, and retention strategies.
