About The Position

The Assistant Project Manager will assist the Project Manager in planning and coordinating projects, performing administrative duties, and independently managing some project elements. This position requires travel and overnight stays in various locations in our Rivers and Lakes Region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or other related engineering field
  • 2 or more years relevant experience, dredging and/or marine construction a plus
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power Point, Microsoft Office
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the position as outlined in the Functional Job Description
  • Must be able to successfully pass all pre-employment screening (drug test, fit test) in addition to random drug and alcohol testing
  • Clean MVR and current Driver's License
  • Must be authorized to work in the US, position is no eligible for VISA sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Upholds the Company’s commitment to an injury-free workplace; leads and models safe work practices
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations as well as all company policies and procedures
  • Works safely around machinery; observes and instructs others in proper equipment use; uses/wears all required PPE
  • Ensures team members are provided a safe work environment and are knowledgeable of safe work practices and policies
  • Works directly with Project Manager to help implement project goals
  • Assigns duties to staff to implement project goals, as needed
  • Oversees variable aspects of projects and provides direct assistance to ensure timely project execution
  • Overviews project goals and ensures project goals are achievable
  • Assists with procuring materials, subcontractors, and other items necessary for completing project goals
  • Reviews project implementation and gathers data on project execution
  • Keeps track of and reports on project progress
  • Works in tandem with onsite Project Engineers, Superintendent and Site Management to review production and engineering requirements
  • Leads in reviewing and submitting RMS compliant items for contract
  • Ensures the project work is being executed according to the contract in place
  • Coordinates and schedules project weekly meetings and distributes meeting minutes
  • Coordinates, schedules, and holds preparatory, initial and follow up meetings per the contract
  • Works with the Project Manager on project correspondence, contractual compliance, and monthly invoice preparation
  • Aids the Project Manager with Internal Project Status Reporting (PSR) and project folder organization
  • Assists in site visits, planning and engineering for Estimating
