About The Position

The Assistant Project Manager plays a vital role in supporting Brady's contracting project manager(s). The major function of this role is to interact with the Project Manager(s) in the day-to-day tasks involved in development, pricing, planning, and execution of projects. Requirements

  • Requires attention to details and the ability to work at a fast pace to meet deadlines.
  • Possesses working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with the operation of Energy Management Systems, HVAC Systems and/or Temperature Controls.
  • One-year certificate from college or technical school.
  • Minimum 1 year of related experience.
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Working knowledge of office equipment and Microsoft Office products.
  • Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications.
  • Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret service bulletins, technical procedure manuals, and equipment specifications.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, customers, and other service personnel.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to pass drug screening.
  • Ability to prove US employment eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Helps to coordinate and manage project tasks and deliverables.
  • Prepares project close documents at project completion.
  • Is responsible for creating Microsoft Project schedules as needed.
  • Handles take-off of drawings.
  • Oversees the submittal review and approval process.
  • Manages multiple tasks and follows up with both internal and external customers.
  • Creates operation and maintenance manuals for Contracting PM's.
  • Assists PM's in getting pricing for all material, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Works with PM to ensure all materials and equipment have been ordered and is scheduled to arrive prior to scheduling project start date.
  • Pulls all permits prior to starting project and schedules all inspections after project completion.
  • Assists with communication to vendors, subcontractors, field personnel, and customers.
  • Schedules meetings for projects and project updates.
  • Works with Retrofit PMs for quoting light commercial unit replacements.
  • Demonstrates and promotes a spirit of cooperation and teamwork throughout the Company.
  • Continually looks for ways to improve our processes and ability to serve our customers effectively.
  • Improves personal performance on a continual basis.
  • Provides responsive, professional and diplomatic customer service.
  • Answers customer calls and correspondence quickly and pleasantly.
  • Communicates with customers in a friendly, professional, and patient manner.
  • Performs all duties with the goal of building and maintaining long-term customer relationships.
  • Immediately addresses any customer's concern and requests the involvement of other Company personnel as required.
  • Follows all company safety programs and reports any non-compliance to your Team Leader.
  • Notifies Manager or Safety Manager of any unsafe conditions.
