About The Position

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support its electrical studies group. This role is based in either the Chesapeake, VA or Madison, WI offices. The APM will assist a team of engineers in developing a variety of electric system planning and design studies, including AC and DC power systems. This position offers growth opportunities for motivated individuals eager to acquire new skills. The successful candidate will collaborate with experienced electrical engineers and APMs, contributing to complex power system analysis and reporting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and a 2- or 4-year college degree.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency with spreadsheets and email.
  • Effective typing skills.
  • Ability to learn complex tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to learn technical concepts.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future.
  • Subject to client-mandated drug and background checking.
  • Subject to ECI's auto insurance carrier requirements due to occasional travel/driving.

Responsibilities

  • Aiding electrical engineers with study and analysis tasks.
  • Requesting, organizing, validating, and updating study information for multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Updating planning task tracking tools.
  • Developing and maintaining electric system models.
  • Working with engineers to prepare narrative reports with charts and tables.
  • Assisting other staff as required.
  • Communicating and collaborating with multiple groups within ECI on project-related items.
  • Assisting with developing estimates.
  • Proofreading reports for grammar, spelling, and format.
  • Administering or coordinating project meetings.
  • Performing general program management.
  • Providing light administrative support.
