About The Position

Assistant Project Engineer (Water & Wastewater Construction) in New Haven, CT. This role supports the construction of water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and other critical infrastructure projects throughout Connecticut. It's an opportunity to work with experienced Project Managers and gain hands-on experience in estimating, project coordination, scheduling, procurement, and field operations. Ideal for recent graduates with relevant experience or those with a few years of construction background.

Requirements

• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred
• 2+ years of construction experience preferred (internships or co-ops considered)
• Interest in heavy civil, infrastructure, or water/wastewater construction
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or AutoCAD is a plus

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers throughout the entire project lifecycle
• Support estimating, quantity takeoffs, and bid reviews
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and material deliveries
• Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, and change orders
• Assist with project scheduling and budget tracking
• Maintain project documentation and construction drawings
• Work with field teams to help solve project challenges
• Support construction activities on active job sites
