About The Position

ERM is hiring an Assistant Project Coordinator to support our Biophysical teams remote based in British Columbia, Canada. This role provides real‑time logistical and safety support to field scientists working on active field programs, while also supporting client communications and ensuring consistent adherence to established protocols. This is a fast‑paced and highly collaborative role that requires strong communication, analytical thinking, and careful coordination across multiple project areas. This is a part‑time (8-15 hours per week), limited-term role for a duration of 4 months.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Wildlife Science, Ecology, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 1 year wildlife field survey or construction monitoring experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to make independent, defensible decisions in time‑sensitive scenarios.
  • Ability to obtain client‑required background clearance upon employment.
  • Comfort working in a fast‑paced, multi‑disciplinary remote environment while managing individual tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and online communication platforms; familiarity with ArcGIS, Survey123, and Google Earth.
  • Strong attention to detail in organizing communications and documenting decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a professional setting.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule—primarily evenings with rotating weekend availability—while maintaining a positive and collaborative attitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience providing guidance, mentorship, or leadership to field staff is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with field crews by phone, email, and Microsoft Teams to provide real‑time direction, safety guidance, and logistical support during field activities.
  • Coordinate daily assignments, track progress, and ensure field crews have accurate information to meet compliance requirements.
  • Operate within a shared Outlook inbox to manage updates, survey results, clearances, and coordination messaging.
  • Follow established client and ERM protocols while using critical thinking and sound judgment to troubleshoot emerging or unique field scenarios.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and organization of communications, survey results, and approval tracking to support regulatory defensibility.
  • Adhere to ERM’s comprehensive safety program and reinforce safe work practices when coordinating with field scientists.
  • Model ERM’s values and ensure compliance with internal standards and client expectations.
