About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to support the Controller and executive leadership team in overseeing the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end close process. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial information related to complex construction projects and will have extensive experience with Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules, Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting, accruals, and job cost accounting. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in construction or major projects, possess leadership experience, and thrive in a fast-paced project-based environment.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
1+ year of accounting management or supervisory experience.
Strong experience in Work-in-Progress (WIP) accounting, Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting, job costing, accrual accounting, month-end close, general ledger accounting, and financial analysis.

Nice To Haves

Industry experience in Construction.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition principles.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a project-driven environment.

Responsibilities

Support the Controller and executive team in overseeing accounting operations.
Ensure the accuracy of financial information related to complex construction projects.
Manage the month-end close process and financial reporting.
Oversee Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules and Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting.
Conduct accrual and job cost accounting.
Lead and manage the accounting team, providing guidance and support.
