About The Position

As Assistant Program Director, you will ensure that every program site operates efficiently, stays within budget, and—most importantly—provides a safe, inclusive environment that promotes the health and well-being of the individuals we serve. You will be a key player in actualizing ROI’s commitment to being an anti-racist and inclusive organization.

Requirements

  • An Experienced Leader: You bring at least 5 years of supervisory experience, ideally within human services or mental health settings.
  • A Master Communicator: You possess excellent oral, written, and presentation skills, with a knack for team building and problem-solving.
  • Mission-Driven: You are deeply committed to the philosophies of diversity and inclusiveness and are eager to support ROI’s anti-racism initiatives.
  • Hands-On & Reliable: You are ready to meet on-site performance targets and provide direct support to staff and clients whenever the need arises.
  • Experience: 5+ years of supervisory experience (Bachelor’s degree, Human Services/Mental Health background preferred)
  • Expertise: Strong knowledge of intellectual and developmental disabilities is highly preferred.
  • Skills: Proven ability in budget monitoring, HR systems, and clinical system oversight.
  • Flexibility: Ability to attend work-related obligations throughout the community (reliable transportation required).

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Directly hire, supervise, and mentor Program Coordinators. Lead your team to function as a cohesive unit that supports both individual programs and ROI’s broader mission.
  • Strategic Planning: Participate in the development of ROI’s Strategic Plan and service/support plans to meet the evolving needs of our community.
  • Advocacy & Rights: Act as a fierce advocate for individuals served, ensuring recipient rights are protected and leading investigations into any alleged violations.
  • Operational Oversight: Monitor annual budgets, oversee personnel matters, and ensure program stability through rigorous preparation for inspections and audits.
  • Crisis & Support: Provide direct assistance for behavioral and medical concerns, which may include physical management and on-site support during crisis situations.
  • Program Development: Support the launch of new group homes and programs tailored for individuals with complex behavioral challenges.
