About The Position

As an Assistant Program Director, you'll play an important leadership role in supporting our Community Developmental Services (CDS) programs and the individuals and families we serve. Working closely with program leadership, you'll help oversee day-to-day operations, support and develop team members, ensure compliance and quality standards are met, and strengthen collaboration across our Family Support and Individual Support programs. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field OR minimum of 5 years’ experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
  • 3 to 5 years of proven administrative and/or supervisory experience in a human services or social services setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership, program development, and staff management skills.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, administrative, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to make sound decisions, exercise good judgment, and solve problems independently.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • CPR/First Aid Certified (or ability to obtain certification within designated timeframe).
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

  • Support the daily operations of assigned Community Developmental Services programs, ensuring compliance with applicable state, licensing, and certification requirements
  • Partner with the Director and Senior Director to support recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, supervision, coaching, and performance management
  • Lead and participate in staff and team meetings, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to team members
  • Support scheduling, staff coordination, coverage planning, and other day-to-day program operations
  • Monitor required documentation, including Individual Support Plans (ISPs), incident reports, and documentation related to high-risk cases
  • Support referrals, intakes, program admissions, billing, reporting, and other administrative processes
  • Participate in quality assurance activities and audits to promote compliance with regulatory and agency standards
  • Support the recruitment, training, and oversight of caregivers, team members, and volunteer providers
  • Collaborate with program leadership and internal teams to improve workflows, communication, and overall program efficiency
  • Build and maintain relationships with DDS, funding sources, community providers, and other external partners
  • Participate in community outreach, educational programs, agency events, and other opportunities that represent KDC
  • Provide on-call coverage as assigned and support programs during non-standard hours
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Director
