About The Position

The Department of Social Work in the College of Health Professions invites applications for a (nine-month), tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 2026. The successful candidate should demonstrate the capacity for grant writing, project development, community service, and publications. In order to be a leading applicant in this search, in addition to the aforementioned requirements, be able to communicate well, demonstrate outstanding potential for excellence in teaching through a successful interview and/or classroom demonstration and be experienced in the use of innovative curricular approaches that are student-centered, inquiry-based, and hands-on oriented. The successful applicant must be capable of and committed to teaching & community service and outreach, and to scholarship. Successful applicants will also have experience working with diverse and historically excluded populations. The department also seeks candidates who will contribute to the University’s general education curriculum and its emphasis on using high-impact teaching practices, particularly those affiliated with one (or more) of the institution’s pedagogical initiatives (e.g., Community-based Learning, Critical Thinking, First Year Seminar, Writing Across Curriculum, etc.). Additionally, the ideal candidate will contribute to the College’s support of interdisciplinary programs of study.

  • Candidates interviewing on campus submit unofficial transcripts (undergraduate and graduate) directly to the chair of the search committee
