About The Position

The Department of Kinesiology at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in Adapted Physical Education (APE) and Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE). This position, effective August 2027, will primarily focus on teaching APE courses, but may also include PETE and Kinesiology core courses, including professional preparation activity courses. CSUSB is a diverse and inclusive institution serving approximately 19,000 students in the Inland Empire. The department offers four concentrations: Allied Health Professions, Exercise Science, Health Promotion, and Physical Education and Adapted Physical Education. The successful candidate will join an intellectually stimulating and innovative academic environment that embraces diversity and encourages research and professional engagement.

Requirements

  • Earned degrees in Kinesiology/Physical Education with APE and PETE specializations or related areas.
  • Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
  • Degree completion by the time of appointment.
  • Candidates with 'all but dissertation' (ABD) are considered for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor position.

  • Teach undergraduate courses in Kinesiology.

  • Lead activities that will advance scholarly excellence in Kinesiology.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population.
  • Work effectively with faculty, staff, and students across a wide range of disciplines.
