The Department of Geological Sciences at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor to begin August 2027. The ideal candidate will be an Engineering Geologist or Applied Geoscientist with a strong preference for industry or government experience in applied geosciences, capable of mentoring students towards professional licensure. Areas of interest include geotechnical analysis, site investigation, hazard assessment, civil/mining/environmental projects, shallow imaging, and remote sensing. The position involves teaching courses such as Engineering Geology, a specialized course (e.g., site investigation, advanced field geology), general education courses (e.g., environmental geology), and other departmental needs. The role also includes mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in research.
