The Department of Child, Adolescent, & Family Studies at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor to begin August 2027. This position is for teacher-scholars whose research and teaching intersect family studies and child development. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in families with young children and the ability to teach courses in family studies, early childhood development, and early childhood education. Qualified candidates should possess expertise in family studies, specialize in early childhood development, and engage in scholarship and teaching that supports historically underrepresented groups, diversity, equity, and/or social justice. The department offers theoretical and practical application courses to prepare graduates for direct service careers, merge developmental knowledge with practical experience, and prepare students for graduate training. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and master's level courses (class sizes 30-200), demonstrate excellence in university teaching, and maintain an active research program involving students. Scholarly activities (publications, presentations) and the potential for securing external funding are expected.
