About The Position

The Department of Criminal Justice at Saint Anselm College invites applications for a three-year Assistant Professor position beginning in August 2027. The position is being added in response to undergraduate student growth and the recent introduction of a cyber criminology major and a 4 +1 Accelerated Master’s Program in Criminology & Criminal Justice. The department also contributes to interdisciplinary programs in cyber criminology, forensic science, and legal studies, and is developing initiatives in procedural justice and evidence-based policing. The department currently has seven full-time faculty members and enrolls approximately 180 majors, 25 minors, and 20 Master’s students; this hire will bring the number of full-time faculty to eight. The position has a 3-3 teaching load. Policing is the primary specialization, and the successful candidate will also be able to teach in one or more of these areas: cyber criminology, theories of crime, and criminal justice policy. Candidates who take an interdisciplinary approach to the study of crime and justice are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants should demonstrate commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and scholarly research. Experience in or a desire to teach and mentor students from diverse backgrounds is especially welcome. Applicants should submit a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, evidence of teaching ability and research potential (such as samples of scholarship, articles, or conference papers) through the college website, addressed to Dr. Peter Cordella, Department Chair. Three letters of recommendation will be required of finalists. Applications should be received by November 30, 2026 for full consideration. A Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or a related field is required. Current graduate students who are ABD may apply, provided the Ph.D. is completed by the appointment date of August 11, 2027.
