About The Position

The School of Theatre & Dance offers an exciting opportunity for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Theatre Arts beginning August 2027. We seek a colleague whose teaching, research, and creative activity include live performance and theatrical Stage Management and/or Production Management. The primary assignment will include teaching theatre management in the undergraduate theatre curriculum and serving as production manager for the academic unit. We are especially interested in qualified candidates with a demonstrated commitment -- through their research, teaching, and service -- to diversity and excellence of our academic programs.

Requirements

  • M.F.A. or equivalent terminal degree in theatre or related field from an accredited program. Terminal degree must be completed by the first day of employment.
  • Expertise and active achievement in live performance for theatrical stage/production management or other similar events.
  • Proven experience that demonstrates an ability to guide undergraduate students through a theatrical production process.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with students from historically under-represented communities and incorporate inclusion, diversity, and educational equity in teaching, and/or scholarship/creative works and their creation processes.
  • Record of working and communicating effectively with colleagues and students.

Responsibilities
