About The Position

The Department of Nursing invites applications for a nine-month tenure-track position starting in the Fall of 2026 at the Assistant Professor rank. The position involves providing service to the School of Nursing, College of Health Professions, University, and the nursing profession/community. Responsibilities include assisting with the accreditation process, collaborating with faculty, engaging in curricular development, revision, and evaluation, and actively participating in student recruitment, admission, and progression. The role also requires seeking external funding, establishing partnerships, leading program and student outcome evaluations, teaching in the Pre-Licensure BSN program, advising nursing students, and engaging in scholarship and research. The department is particularly interested in candidates who can contribute to the University's general education curriculum, utilize high-impact teaching practices aligned with pedagogical initiatives (e.g., Community-based Learning, Critical Thinking, First Year Seminar, Writing Across Curriculum), and support interdisciplinary programs within the College.

Responsibilities

  • Provide service to the School of Nursing, College of Health Professions, University, and nursing profession/community.
  • Responsible for assisting with the accreditation process for the School of Nursing.
  • Work with full and part time faculty.
  • Curricular development, revision, and evaluation.
  • Active engagement in student recruitment, admission, and progression.
  • Seek external funding for programmatic enhancements.
  • Establish partnership for future the mission of the program.
  • Lead evaluation of program and students’ outcomes.
  • Teach students in the Pre-Licensure BSN program and advise nursing students.
  • Engage in scholarship and research.
  • Contribute to the University’s general education curriculum.
  • Utilize high-impact teaching practices, particularly those affiliated with one (or more) of the institution’s pedagogical initiatives (e.g., Community-based Learning, Critical Thinking, First Year Seminar, Writing Across Curriculum, etc.).
  • Contribute to the College’s support of interdisciplinary programs of study.
