The Assistant Professor is expected to promote academic excellence, provide patient care (when applicable), search for translational opportunities, and promote the health & wellness of Arkansans.

Requirements

• Ph.D., M.D. or D.O. required.
• Residency/Fellowship (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Provide interventional cardiology services in the cardiac catheterization laboratory.
• Attend the catheterization laboratory for a maximum of three days per week.
• Serve as associate director of the interventional fellowship.
• Provide out-of-hours and holiday STEMI call coverage at UAMS in collaboration with the rest of the invasive cardiology group. The maximum rota will be 1:4.
• Attend the cardiology consult service a maximum of 4 weeks/year.
• Maintain two half days of clinic in the outpatient center.
• Perform outreach at UAMS satellite facilities no more than one day per month. Expectations include outpatient clinics and invasive procedures as the situation demands.
• Develop an intellectual interest in clinical and cardiovascular medicine, medical ethics, quality improvement, clinical research, or the teaching of trainees in the Division, Department, Service Line, and Institution.
