About The Position

Daemen University invites qualified applicants for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Nursing starting 1/1/27. We seek a dedicated nurse educator committed to student-centered learning, academic excellence, and contributing to a dynamic, collaborative academic community at a liberal arts institution. The faculty member will teach in the graduate Nurse Practitioner and Doctor of Nursing Practice programs and will contribute to curriculum development, academic advisement, departmental service, and scholarly activity. Joining our Nursing team, the Assistant Professor will be responsible for the following: Teaching graduate courses in the Department of Nursing. Participating in curriculum design, course development, and continuous improvement to maintain alignment with current nursing practice. Engage in scholarly, professional, or practice-based activities consistent with tenure-track expectations. Contribute to departmental, college, and university service activities. Assist with marketing, recruitment, and outreach efforts for the Nursing Department and Daemen University. Collaborate with faculty, staff, and healthcare agency partners to support effective program operations. Within the Scott Bieler College of Health Professions, Daemen offers several different nursing degree tracks. A RN-BS program is offered at the undergraduate level. Daemen University offers several graduate degree programs, including Adullt-Gerontology Primary and Acute Care Programs, Nursing Education, and Nursing Leadership and Health Administration programs.

Requirements

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
  • Active enrollment in a doctoral degree in nursing or related field.
  • Current RN licensure in New York State.
  • Current certification as an Advanced Practice provider (FNP, AGPCNP, AGACNP).

Nice To Haves

  • Doctoral degree in nursing or a related field (PhD., DNP, EdD.).
  • Higher education teaching experience.
  • Evidence of scholarly activity and/or clinical expertise.
  • Experience working with diverse learners in academic or clinical settings.

Responsibilities
