About The Position

The Physical Therapy Department at Misericordia University invites applications for a full-time, 10-month, on campus faculty position, beginning August 2027. Rank and status are negotiable and dependent upon the applicant’s experience and qualifications. Misericordia University, founded in 1924 by the Sisters of Mercy, is located adjacent to the Pocono Mountains region of Northeastern Pennsylvania. The university's approach of combining a quality liberal arts education with professional preparation and service to others has resulted in its wide regional acclaim. Requirements

  • Earned academic doctorate from an accredited institution (preferred), or DPT and clinical specialty certification
  • Current Physical Therapy license or eligible for Pennsylvania Physical Therapy licensure.
  • Minimum of three years of contemporary clinical experience in their specialty area
  • Teaching experience in higher education
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Misericordia University is not able to sponsor or transfer employment visas for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses within the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) curriculum.
  • Engage students through innovative teaching methodologies and evidence-based practice.
  • Advise and mentor students in academic and professional development.
  • Participate in scholarly activities, research, and service to the department, university, and profession.
  • Assist with student recruitment, admissions activities, program assessment, and accreditation processes.
  • Support clinical education initiatives and foster relationships with healthcare and community partners.
