Tulane University School of Medicine is seeking a Transplant Infectious Disease physician to join a growing, highly specialized academic program focused on solid organ transplantation. The transplant service includes a dedicated 12-bed Solid Organ Transplant Unit supporting kidney, liver, pancreas, heart, and LVAD patients, with continued expansion of advanced transplant services, including future lung transplantation programs. The program is supported by a dedicated CT-ICU and a growing multidisciplinary team of transplant specialists.
Requirements
- MD or DO from an accredited institution
- Completion of an Infectious Diseases fellowship
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Infectious Diseases
- Eligible for Louisiana medical licensure

Responsibilities
- Provide expert care for transplant recipients with infectious complications.
- Perform pre- and post-transplant infectious disease evaluations.
- Collaborate closely with transplant surgeons, nephrologists, hepatologists, cardiologists, pulmonologists, and other specialists.
- Develop and implement evidence-based infection prevention and management protocols.
- Educate medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Lead lectures, case discussions, and bedside teaching activities.
- Mentor trainees in clinical practice, scholarship, and professional development.
- Participate in clinical and translational research related to transplant infectious diseases.
- Publish findings and present at regional and national conferences.
- Collaborate on funded research initiatives and quality improvement projects.
