The Special Education & Counseling Department in the College of Education at Cal State LA is seeking to fill two full-time, academic year Assistant Professor tenure track positions in the School-Based Family Counseling Program. The appointment begins Spring 2027 or Fall 2027. The primary professional responsibilities of instructional faculty members are teaching, research, scholarship and/or creative activity, and service to the University, profession, and community. These responsibilities generally include advising students, participation in campus and system-wide committees, maintaining office hours, working collaboratively and productively with colleagues, and participation in traditional academic functions. Principal duties include teaching introductory and advanced courses in Counseling, including providing supervision of first-year graduate students in conjoint family therapy in a community clinic setting, supervising practicum/fieldwork, and providing student advisement.
