The Department of Computer Science in the College of Letters and Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in any area(s) of computer science, beginning August 2026. This is a full-time position with responsibilities for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in our computer science programs and potentially in our cybersecurity programs and a future artificial intelligence program; research; and service to the university, community, and profession. Research and teaching expertise should complement existing faculty expertise. The successful candidate will be able to teach core computer science courses such as programming, data structures, and theory of algorithms. In addition, the successful candidate will have expertise to teach courses in one or more other subfields offered by the department, including artificial intelligence, software engineering, cloud computing, computer systems, or data science. These courses support our department's Computer Science B.S and M.S. programs, as well as our Cybersecurity B.S. and M.S. programs and a new artificial intelligence program that is under development. The candidate will also be expected to pursue an active research agenda that engages undergraduate and graduate students; results in publications; and contributes to advancing the department, university, profession, and society. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to participate in service activities and to embrace the principles of diversity and inclusion as a member of the university community.
