About The Position

The Department of Computer Science at Washington and Lee University (cs.wlu.edu) invites applications for three tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor of Computer Science beginning July 1, 2026. We seek candidates who demonstrate potential to be excellent teacher/scholars, are dedicated to effective teaching, and can mentor and collaborate with undergraduates. This position carries a 5-course teaching load distributed over Fall and Winter terms (12 weeks each) and the university’s signature 4-week Spring Term. Candidates should be prepared to teach introductory courses--including for non-majors--as well as intermediate or advanced courses in computer science. Our introductory courses have an associated lab, which counts towards the teaching load. In addition to teaching courses, candidates should be able to sponsor student research in computer science. Washington and Lee University (W&L) is a highly selective, independent, co-educational, liberal arts college of approximately 1880 undergraduate and 370 law students.
