The Department of Computer Science in the College of Letters and Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, a federally designated Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD), seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in cybersecurity, computer networks, or related areas to begin in August 2026. This is a full-time position with responsibilities for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in our cybersecurity and computer science programs; research; and service to the university, community, and profession. Research and teaching expertise should complement existing faculty expertise. The successful candidate will be able to teach a variety of courses across the Cybersecurity B.S. and M.S. programs. Specific course assignments will depend on the candidate’s experience and the department’s needs, but may include courses in programming, web security, cloud security, system and software security, operating systems, digital forensics, computer networking, information privacy, or other topics related to cybersecurity. The candidate will also be expected to pursue an active research agenda that engages undergraduate and graduate students; results in publications; and contributes to advancing the department, university, profession, and society. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to participate in service activities and to embrace the principles of diversity and inclusion as a member of the university community.
