The University of Southern Mississippi is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Professor, School of Kinesiology & Nutrition. This is a tenure-track, nine-month Assistant Professor position beginning Fall 2027. Based in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, this in-person position seeks an innovative and collaborative scholar with expertise in sport coaching, applications of motor development and/or motor learning, and/or coach development. The successful candidate will develop a productive research agenda, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, mentor students, and contribute to service. Candidates whose interests align with coach preparation, applied motor learning and development, or coach education are especially encouraged to apply. The School of Kinesiology and Nutrition serves more than 600 students and includes 27 faculty and staff. With five undergraduate programs, three master's programs, an active doctoral program, and state-of-the-art research and teaching facilities, the School offers a collaborative environment that supports excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.
