About The Position

This position involves curriculum development and educational delivery in orthodontics, with a focus on managing adolescent and adult orthodontic patients, craniofacial anomalies, and orthognathic surgery cases. The role requires expertise in contemporary fixed appliance systems and digital orthodontic workflows. The Assistant Professor will also be expected to contribute to the academic and clinical environment, potentially through research and by advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion.

Requirements

  • DDS or DMD degree from a CODA-accredited dental school, or equivalent international degree.
  • Completion of an advanced education program in Orthodontics from a CODA accredited institution or equivalent.
  • Active license to practice dentistry.
  • Current CPR / BLS certification.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and educational delivery in orthodontics.
  • Clinical expertise in the management of adolescent and adult orthodontic patients, craniofacial anomalies, and orthognathic surgery cases.
  • Experience with contemporary fixed appliance systems and digital orthodontic workflows.
  • At least one year of clinical orthodontic practice or teaching experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, students, staff, faculty, and administrators from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic academic environment.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, integrity, and composure in clinical and academic settings.
  • Ability to inspire excellence, innovation, and lifelong learning.
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Nice To Haves

  • Fellowship training in craniofacial orthodontics or substantial clinical experience in the management of patients with craniofacial anomalies.
  • Previous academic teaching experience in a graduate orthodontic program.
  • Demonstrated scholarly productivity and potential to develop an extramurally funded research program.
  • Experience with digital orthodontic workflows, CBCT imaging, and 3D craniofacial imaging analysis.
  • American Board of Orthodontics board certification.
