About The Position

The College of Business Administration (COBA) at Texas A&M University-Central Texas is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Supply Chain Management to begin in Fall 2027. The position requires a collegial teacher-scholar with a passion for teaching and a strong record of excellence. The primary teaching need is for undergraduate courses supporting the new BBA in Logistics & Supply Chain Management program, with the goal of establishing a strong program with excellent student outcomes and robust industry connections. Opportunities to teach at other levels or in related areas may exist based on qualifications and interest. Texas A&M University-Central Texas is a regional teaching institution established in 2009, offering upper-level undergraduate and master's degree coursework. It actively partners with community colleges, the Greater Austin and Central Texas regions, and Fort Hood. The university serves a diverse student body including first-generation, non-traditional, and military-affiliated students. The College of Business Administration is AACSB accredited and is undergoing significant strategic initiatives, including a planned DBA program launch in Fall 2027. The university is located near Killeen, TX, offering a growing economy, family-friendly environment, and reasonable cost of living, with proximity to major metropolitan areas.

Requirements

  • Possess a terminal degree (doctorate) in supply chain management or a closely related discipline from a regionally accredited university.
  • Be eligible for the AACSB “scholarly academic” faculty classification (two publications or relevant terminal degree completed since 2022, with viable works in progress).
  • Have a documented track record of successfully teaching supply chain or operations courses, including in fully online formats.
  • Be qualified to teach LSCM 4321, LSCM 4322, and LSCM 4326.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer.
  • Must be eligible to work for any U.S. employer.

Nice To Haves

  • At least three (3) years of full-time collegiate teaching experience.
  • Industry experience.
  • Experience developing industry connections in support of academic programs.
  • Proficiency in creating original and engaging online course instructional materials.
  • Qualifications to teach LSCM 4323 and BUSI 3311.
  • Great administrative, organizational, and interpersonal skills to support successful instruction to a largely non-traditional, first-generation, and military-affiliated student body.
  • Familiarity/experience with DBA programs and/or supervision of doctoral students.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality, engaging instruction for typically three courses per term, primarily at the undergraduate level and in a variety of course delivery formats (face-to-face, online, or hybrid), with fully online being the most in-demand option at present.
  • Teach specific courses including LSCM 4321 Production and Operations Management, LSCM 4322 Business Process, Quality, and Lean Management, LSCM 4326 Global Procurement and Strategic Sourcing. Other assigned courses may include LSCM 4323 Supply Chain Management and BUSI 3311 Business Statistics.
  • Engage in scholarly contributions to maintain AACSB "scholarly academic" status, with a focus on a healthy pipeline of works in progress toward publication, viability, and anticipated impact.
  • Engage in other scholarly and/or professional activities such as maintaining professional certifications, presenting at academic conferences, engaging in consulting or other industry-related activities, and completing relevant professional training and development.
  • Support programs, departments, colleges, and/or universities through committee work (first-year faculty are exempt).
  • Engage in service to the profession and/or community, with an emphasis on impact and quality over quantity.
  • Collaborate on research projects with faculty within the College.
