About The Position

The College of Health Professions invites applications for a tenure-track, 9-month Assistant Professor position in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology and in affiliation with the interdisciplinary Autism Studies PhD program in the College of Health Professions. Preferred begin date is August 2027. Faculty with expertise in autism are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

Doctoral degree in speech-language pathology or a related field.
Commitment to working across programs, disciplines, and cultures to strengthen the field.
ASHA CCC-SLP certification (prioritized).
Current (or eligibility for) Maryland licensure (prioritized).

Responsibilities

Teaching: Research-active instructors teach 6 course units (equivalent to 18 credits) over a 9-month academic year in our student-focused programs, providing high-quality instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and advising and mentoring students as they matriculate through the associated programs and prepare to enter the profession (clinical supervision and Autism Studies PhD student mentorship also included in this position).
Scholarship: Development/continuation of a focused area of research that includes peer-reviewed publications, professional presentations, grant funding, and involvement in scholarly projects with students, and involvement of doctoral students/mentees.
Service: Active service participation at the department, college, university, community, and professional levels.
