About The Position

The psychology department in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Marist University invites applications for a tenure track position of Assistant Professor of School Psychology to begin the fall of 2027. The successful candidate will specialize in School Psychology and teach in both our graduate program (NASP approved MA School Psychology program) and our undergraduate program. Graduate courses are held in the evenings. We seek those with expertise related to academic and behavioral assessment. Applicants should be flexible about teaching assignments. We welcome candidates who will place an emphasis on quality teaching in a small classroom setting and who can expertly integrate relevant sociocultural content and issues into their teaching. Applicants should be engaged in ongoing research activities and enthusiastic about allowing students to assist them.

Requirements

  • A Doctorate in Psychology or a related field by Fall 2027 is required.

Nice To Haves

  • University level teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Primarily, instruction of graduate and undergraduate students with an expectation of competence in the use of instructional technology
  • Engaged in ongoing research and scholarly activities in keeping with requirements for a tenured position
  • Mentorship of student research
  • Advisement of undergraduate students
  • Participation in departmental/school/university activities
