About The Position

The Gus Machado College of Business invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, renewable faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. The College seeks a student-centered educator-scholar who can contribute across business analytics and quantitative methods, supply chain, operations and logistics management, and related areas such as managerial economics. Candidates who can teach effectively in more than one of the College's areas of need are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will support undergraduate and graduate education, engage in mission-aligned scholarship, participate in assurance-of-learning and continuous-improvement activities, mentor students, and build meaningful connections with business, industry, community, and global partners.

Requirements

  • An earned doctorate by the start date from an appropriately accredited institution in quantitative and statistical analysis, operations management, supply chain management, logistics, economics, business administration, or a closely related business discipline.
  • Academic preparation sufficient to meet University credentialing requirements and applicable accreditation expectations for the courses assigned.
  • Evidence of, or strong potential for, effective undergraduate and graduate teaching.
  • Evidence of, or strong potential for, a sustained program of scholarly and/or professionally engaged activity appropriate to the College's mission and faculty qualification policies.
  • Ability to use contemporary instructional technologies and data-informed approaches to teaching and learning.
  • Commitment to student advising, mentoring, inclusive excellence, ethical leadership, and the success of learners from varied backgrounds.
  • Strong written, oral, interpersonal, and collaborative communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated teaching effectiveness at the college or university level, including experience teaching graduate or MBA courses.
  • Ability to teach across multiple areas of need, particularly business analytics/quantitative analysis and supply chain/operations/logistics.
  • Record of peer-reviewed, applied, pedagogical, interdisciplinary, or industry-engaged scholarship.
  • Relevant professional or industry experience and evidence of sustained engagement with the practice of business.
  • Experience with analytical and business technologies such as Excel, Tableau, Power BI, enterprise systems, simulation, optimization, or supply-chain platforms.
  • Experience with assurance of learning, program assessment, curriculum mapping, accreditation, or continuous-improvement processes.
  • Experience developing new courses, certificates, concentrations, degree programs, experiential learning, or industry partnerships.
  • Evidence of successful grant development, sponsored projects, consulting, or externally supported research.
  • Global, intercultural, or cross-sector experience that can strengthen international collaboration and locally relevant management education.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in assigned areas of expertise using on-ground, online, hybrid, and other approved instructional modalities.
  • Design and deliver current, rigorous, inclusive, and applied learning experiences that integrate theory and practice through cases, simulations, laboratories, analytics, projects, and engagement with organizations.
  • Use relevant digital, analytical, and information technologies responsibly and ethically to prepare learners for technology-forward business environments.
  • Develop and maintain course syllabi, learning activities, assessments, and instructional materials aligned with program competencies and College expectations.
  • Participate in assurance-of-learning activities, including assessment of program learning outcomes, analysis of results, documentation of findings, and implementation of improvements that close the assessment loop.
  • Demonstrate teaching effectiveness through evidence-informed instructional design, learner engagement, timely feedback, reflective improvement, and participation in faculty development.
  • Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, support persistence and degree progression, supervise applied or research projects when assigned, and contribute to career readiness and post-graduation success.
  • Maintain an active, mission-aligned program of scholarly activity appropriate to the candidate's discipline, faculty appointment, and the College's faculty qualification expectations.
  • Produce and disseminate high-quality intellectual contributions, which may include basic, applied, pedagogical, interdisciplinary, or practice-oriented scholarship.
  • Sustain disciplinary currency through ongoing academic and/or professional engagement, including research, consulting, industry collaboration, professional development, certifications, conference participation, or other relevant activities.
  • Pursue opportunities for collaborative research, knowledge transfer, external funding, and scholarship that informs business practice, policy, teaching, or societal needs.
  • Contribute to College and University service, including faculty governance, committees, recruitment, student engagement, curriculum review, accreditation, assessment, and strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with faculty and professional staff on program development, curricular renewal, interdisciplinary initiatives, and continuous improvement.
  • Build and sustain relationships with employers, industry professionals, alumni, community organizations, government, and other external stakeholders.
  • Support experiential learning, internships, mentoring, advisory activities, and applied projects that connect learners with the practice of business.
  • Advance the University's mission by integrating ethical leadership, responsible decision-making, global perspective, innovation, and positive societal impact into teaching, scholarship, and engagement.
  • Participate in cross-border or cross-sector collaborations that expand global learning, faculty partnerships, and locally relevant management education.
