About The Position

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: The Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in public relations or advertising. The successful candidate will be expected to build a nationally or internationally recognized research program; teach undergraduate and graduate courses; and mentor graduate and undergraduate students in the school. Research should complement one or more existing strengths in the department, which include science, health, and global communication. Additionally, the successful candidate will have a commitment to excellence in teaching at all levels and performance of service duties. Department/Program & College Description: The Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication is a dynamic, ACEJMC-accredited school offering four professional majors, one interdisciplinary major, and a strong master’s program. Undergraduate majors include advertising, digital storytelling, journalism and mass communication, public relations, and sports media and communication. Requirements

PhD in journalism and mass communication, strategic communication, or a related area
