About The Position

Eastern Connecticut State University is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a one-year Assistant Professor position in Psychological Science. This full-time role begins in August for the 2026 academic year. Eastern is Connecticut's only public liberal arts university, and Psychology is one of its largest majors. The successful candidate will be a generalist in Psychology. In the fall semester, they will teach Introductory Psychology and Introduction to the Psychology Major (a one-credit orientation course). In the spring semester, they will teach Research Methods, Introductory Psychology, and an additional Psychology elective for majors. The ability to teach Research Methods is a requirement, and expertise in Developmental, Industrial Organizational, or Biological Psychology is preferred. The position includes a 4-4 teaching load, advising duties, and departmental service responsibilities. Candidates should demonstrate potential for teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, particularly with first-generation students. Those willing to mentor students in their research are encouraged to apply. A Ph.D. is required before August 2026, though ABD candidates will be considered.
