About The Position
The Department of Political Science at Oklahoma State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Law and Politics starting August 2027. Teaching responsibilities will be on a 2-2 load and consist of introductory, upper-level undergraduate courses, as well as graduate seminars offered either in person or online. The successful candidate will teach courses contributing to our Pre-Law option within the Political Science major and the Law and Legal Studies minor. We are also highly interested in candidates able to teach introduction to American Government. A Ph.D. in Political Science is required at the time of appointment. Candidates with a J.D. degree and a license to practice law in the United States are particularly encouraged to apply.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Political Science (ABD candidates must finish degree requirements before Fall 2027 semester).
- Evidence of high-quality research with a trajectory of building a national profile.
- Evidence of successful college or university-level teaching and mentorship.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively mentor and collaborate with students and colleagues.
