About The Position

The Department of Political Science at The University of Alabama invites applications for an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) position in International Relations, beginning August 16, 2027. The department seeks an innovative scholar whose research explores emerging trends in global politics, such as geopolitical shifts, environmental change, migration crises, technological innovation, and new patterns of warfare. The successful candidate will advance new theoretical and methodological approaches to understanding these transformations and their impact on global governance. A strong research agenda with a clear plan for peer-reviewed scholarly publications is expected. The regular teaching load is two courses per semester, with active participation in undergraduate teaching and the department's graduate program.

Requirements

• A completed Ph.D. in political science or a closely related field is required for appointment.
