Requirements

• A Ph.D. in political science.
• Demonstrated ability to teach international politics and comparative politics.
• Ability to work with students at various levels of development.
• An understanding of the difference between a small college and a university.
• A demonstrated commitment to liberal arts education is essential.

Nice To Haves

• Experience teaching at the undergraduate level is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• teach at least one section per semester of the American Experience (American institutions and ideas)
• teach a two-course sequence in international politics and comparative politics and electives in their area(s) of expertise.
• Engage in a 3/4 (21 hours) teaching schedule annually.
• Engage in scholarship and creative activities.
• Serve on college committees and participate in college governance; serve as an academic adviser (starting in the second year); participate in recruiting activities as appropriate; engage in curricular development and assessment efforts and engage with the surrounding community.
